'The double height glazing acts like a cinema screen bringing in light and views whilst charting the path of the sun and the seasons.'
Grand Designs Magazine
A grand double-height family living space is created at the rear of this remodelled Victorian semi-detached house, taking advantage of a full storey drop in height between the garden and the ground-floor. A large sliding glass roof and a glazed rear façade dissolve the definition of the house and open up views to the garden and the woodland beyond.
Inside, mezzanine levels were added to connect rooms back to the main ‘public space’ at the heart of the house, linking the dining, formal living, family living and kitchen spaces. The interior spaces are painted white and, with high ceilings and large windows, are incredibly light and airy.
